Little is known about this British singer-songwriter from Manchester. Barely even her name, Jasmine Cruikshank, and the fact that she put herself on the map as the first British artist to sign with the exclusive American firm, specialised in indie folk, Saddest Factory Records, founded by the prestigious Phoebe Bridgers.
After this, she declared: “I take it seriously, just to be a visible trans woman role model in music, because there aren’t that many, and there should be more”. After all, the .4.T in her name means for trans.
Jasmine dedicates her work, as well as to her “host family”, to “anarquism without borders for all trans people”. Let’s celebrate her and her music.
